Giving a theater and its big-screen lineup a fun makeover at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Ā
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Back in the day, this theater was stuck on a Star Wars loop. It needed a facelift, pronto! Armed with mood boards straight out of Hollywood and a team of creative wizards, we plunged headfirst into the excitement. As the Story and Writing Lead, I spearheaded the development of the entire experience within (and beyond, from start to finish) the theater, crafting a brand-new script for a Mickey Mouse Cartoon Short, and everything in between!
MY ROLE
- Story Development: Led the creative vision for the rebrand, focusing on the magic of animated TV and classic Disney storytelling.
- Writing: Penned the original cartoon short script and worked with Disney TV Animation to perfect it. Also wrote marketing and communication materials for the project launch.
- Theater Design: Worked with art directors, concept artists, and interior and lighting designers to create a space inspired by Disney’s most magical mouse.
- Naming: Created the name and tagline for the cartoon short.
RESULTS & IMPACT
- The theater and big-screen attraction brought a burst of energy to the existing space, like a splash of pixie dust!
- This new offering promises an exclusive treat, with the cartoon short available only at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
- It’s become the go-to attraction for guests of all ages, seamlessly blending the joy of Disney Parks with the whimsy of Disney Animation.

Before the After
Behold, the “before” picture of this theater, pre-my-brilliance! It was like the set of a B-movie horror flickādark, dusty, and desperately in need of a makeover. Let’s just say, if theaters could talk, this one would’ve been screaming for help. But fear not, because I swooped in like a caped crusader to save the day, armed with creativity, flair, and a dash of movie magic. Everything above is the jaw-dropping “after” shot!
