I’ve taught everyone from snack-loving Kindergartners to coffee-fueled Grad Students—sometimes I think the only difference is the size of their backpacks. I’ve designed everything from finger-paint-friendly lesson plans to county-wide education programs and college courses that (hopefully) kept students awake!
I’ve taught in every format imaginable—live and in-person (where I can see who’s actually paying attention), hybrid (for the best of both worlds… or the worst, depending on Wi-Fi), and fully remote (where I’ve mastered the art of talking to a sea of muted microphones).
Places I’ve had the pleasure (and occasional chaos) of teaching:
- The University of Florida | Gainesville, FL
- The College of the Florida Keys | Key West, FL (Virtual Campus)
- Meigs County Board of Education | Decatur, TN
Courses I’ve taught and developed:
- Composition I and II
- Special Topics in Composition
- Writing for Argument and Persuasion
- Technical Writing
- American Literature
- English Literature
- Fantasy Literature
- Children’s Literature
- Young Adult Literature
- Southern Literature
- Writing Tutorial Program and Content Development for K-12 Public Schools (Tennessee)
Modes of teaching:
- Live (in the classroom)
- Online (asynchronous via e-Learning, Blackboard, and Canvas)
