Forget old-school “learning.” Rev up the edutainment!
PROJECT OVERVIEW
We needed to shout from the rooftops about our epic new GM EV Ecosystem and GM Energy projects and products to everyone from dealers to the office plants. I led the charge with a series of internal TV and video projects that were so fast, they made lightning seem like it was crawling at a snail’s pace.
MY ROLE
Alright, here’s the skinny (or as much as I can dish). I pretty much wore every hat you can find at the end of a credit roll:
- Showrunner/Head Writer: Ruled those projects with an iron pen.
- Creative Director: The maestro behind the scenes.
- Executive Producer: Cracked the
whipcharger cord to ensure everything was done, on time and on budget. - Blue Sky Brainstorming & Concepts: Cooked up a storm, then pitched the winning idea to the big shots.
- Scriptwriting: Penned every word.
- Desk Pieces: Crafted jokes, bits, and games that would make Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert proud.
- Talent Casting: Handpicked GM’s crème de la crème for their moment in the limelight.
- Location Scouting: Scoured the earth (but mostly Detroit) for the perfect backdrop.
- Set & Furniture: Decked out the space, making sure everyone had a cozy spot for their cuppa joe.
- Props: Call me the prop whisperer, summoning them with a snap and a wink, from purchase to vendor wooing!
- Line Producer: Keeping the groove in every frame!
- Hair, Wardrobe & Makeup: Ensured my stars were camera-ready, darling.
- Studio Reservations: Penciled us in like VIPs.
- Video Direction: Lights, camera, action—I called the shots.
- Line Producer: Keeping the groove in every frame!
- Run Throughs & Table Reads: Whipped the team into shape before showtime.
- Directing Post-Production Edits: Told them what to keep and what to cut.
- Marketing Materials: Spread the word about our awesome creations far and wide.
- Community Management: Handled feedback like a pro, keeping the peace.
- Naming: Dubbed our overall live-to-tape TV series and individual episodes with finesse.
RESULTS & IMPACT
- Unveiling a quirky method to enlighten employees and dealers about what’s in the pipeline.
- Crafting blockbuster smash hits and content worthy of an EGOT while stretching budgets thinner than a dollar store balloon.
- Getting a nod from GM CEO Mary Barra for turning education into a joyride of laughs and wins!
