How do you give a vertical game a superhero-sized twist?
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The team embarked on a heroic quest to bring an electrifying new vertical-style game board inspired by Marvel’s Avengers to life.
The goal was to create a fresh take on gameplay that combined the familiar excitement of a vertical game with the larger-than-life world of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The experience needed to feel unmistakably Avengers while delivering a fun, engaging game for fans of all ages.
From the character artwork and game components to the packaging and final details, every element needed to work together as one cohesive experience. Like Tony Stark refining his armor, the team fine-tuned every detail to make sure the finished game was ready for its heroic debut.
DESIGN CHALLENGE
The challenge was to bring the excitement and personality of Marvel’s Avengers into a vertical-style game while keeping the gameplay simple, engaging, and easy to understand.
Every element needed to feel cohesive—from the character artwork and game components to the packaging and player experience. The Avengers world is filled with larger-than-life heroes, so the creative needed to capture that energy without overwhelming the game itself.
The goal was to create a game that felt unmistakably Avengers while delivering a polished, approachable experience that fans could pick up and play.
MY ROLE
Creative Oversight: Provided creative oversight throughout the final stages of development, ensuring the game’s storytelling, visual execution, and overall experience remained cohesive and aligned with the Avengers brand.
Engineered Product Testing: Tested the game through the final development process, checking gameplay, components, and overall functionality to identify issues and opportunities for refinement before release.
Final Game Proofs & QA: Reviewed final game proofs and production materials to catch errors, verify creative details, and ensure the finished product was accurate, polished, and ready for launch.
